Aptem has been awarded the prestigious ‘Learning Technologies Organisation of the Year’ title at the Learning Technologies Awards 2025.
The announcement was made at a gala ceremony in London on 12 November, where the very best in learning innovation and achievement were recognised and celebrated.
The judging panel praised Aptem for demonstrating exceptionally high levels of customer satisfaction, and delivering outstanding results for apprenticeship providers and their learners. The judges highlighted Aptem’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, noting our ongoing efforts to open up learning opportunities and share best practices across the education sector.
As part of the rigorous judging process, we shared some insight into the impact Aptem is having for our customers across growth, achievement rates and quality, including:
- 15.4% increase in learner achievement rate among Aptem customers (compared to1.6% among non-customers).
- 7.2% average annual provider growth for Aptem customers (compared to a sector-wide average of -0.2%).
- Up to £200,000 per annum in administration savings.
- 50% reduction in admin effort for key tutor tasks, that providers can reinvest in core coaching, support, and learner recruitment.
During presentations to the judges, Alex Morrison of Buckinghamshire New University joined Aptem’s Sean Baker to share examples of the transformational impact Aptem has had for the university – enhancing Ofsted readiness, boosting compliance and enabling the university to manage programmes more efficiently.
Alex offered specific examples of how the platform has supported the university, as well as an insight into the benefits beyond the technology:
‘Aptem is more than just software. While it supports compliance and helps us navigate complex apprenticeship funding rules, it also fosters collaboration and continuous improvement. We benefit from regular webinars, networking opportunities, and best practice sharing with industry experts such as FIN, UVAC, and SDN/Mesma. Aptem’s publications – including ebooks and whitepapers – offer valuable insights into emerging technologies like AI and how they can be integrated into our business. Through Aptem’s HE forums, we’ve built mutually beneficial relationships with other universities and training providers.
During our most recent Ofsted inspection, we were able to provide inspectors with direct access to apprentice records, showcasing best practice and demonstrating compliance with the Education Inspection Framework. Using ODATA and other reporting mechanisms, we evidenced strong governance and the impact of our training provision – contributing significantly to our “Good” grading outcome.’

We’d like to thank Alex for his valuable contribution and for bringing the benefits of the platform to life for the judges.
