Available now: Objective progress monitoring
Monitor progress and support development, thanks to Aptem’s new learning tool. Aptem Checkpoint presents a series of questions to learners at relevant points in their apprenticeship, to boost learner confidence and provide an instant snapshot of their comprehension of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs).
The tool also helps learners to foster a deeper understanding of on-the-job challenges, by allowing them to apply theoretical understanding of the skills and behaviours they’re working towards, via realistic scenarios in the context of their employment and programme of study.
Available now: 24/7 access to information
The virtual assistant capitalises on momentum by providing answers whenever learners or tutors need them, regardless of provider bandwidth or availability.
Surfacing AI-generated responses mapped to the apprenticeship standards greatly improves relevancy and accuracy. The virtual assistant reduces administrative burden and helps apprentices take ownership of their learning in a way that suits them.
Coming soon: Auto summarisation of reviews
Unlock valuable, learner focused reviews by shifting the focus from notetaking to coaching and feedback. Aptem’s review summarisation tool will eliminate the trade-off between valuable discussion and accurate record-keeping, by automatically documenting key discussion points, themes, feedback and action points as each review conversation progresses.
Review preparation features will pre-populate forms with relevant information from across the Aptem system, saving time and ensuring all parties come to review sessions well informed and ready for meaningful discussions.
Coming soon: Faster, more consistent marking
Accelerate the time taken to provide meaningful feedback on submissions, thanks to our AI-powered marking aid. 70% of the customers we spoke to said tutors spend between 20% and 40% of their time marking work and evidence – accounting for a significant portion of their working week. By providing suggested improvements to elements such as spelling, grammar, punctuation and word count, this feature will reduce marking effort and help tutors focus on the quality and content of submissions.

We will continue to expand our offering of AI-driven product capabilities. They aim to replace high-effort admin tasks with cheaper, faster and higher-quality technology solutions. Our roadmap will be updated with specific new enhancements as they are developed.
Aptem Enhance has already launched Checkpoint and virtual assistant and will grow to include review summarisation and marking aid, within just 12 months.
Checkpoint: Applied KSB questions
Apprentice
We present realistic scenarios in the context of the learner’s employment and programme of study. This will empower apprentices to apply theoretical understanding to the skills and behaviours they are working towards, fostering a deeper understanding of on-the-job challenges. This supports the goal of aligning apprenticeship training and real-world requirements, while also providing tutors with a comprehensive understanding of each learner’s progress.

Unlock impactful, learner-centered support by shifting the focus from basic feedback to meaningful, constructive guidance.
Virtual assistant: General availability
By leveraging large language models and built-in knowledge of learner context, this assistant aims to give learners the answers they need, regardless of tutor availability or bandwidth. Using this approach, we hope to give learners more ownership of their learning journey, maximise learning momentum, and reduce the administrative burden for tutors to respond to repetitive questions.
