We’ve partnered with education-sector compliance specialists Lockhart Hawkins to give eligible Aptem customers an annual, independent compliance review, at no extra cost. It’s called the Aptem compliance assurance review (ACAR), and it’s exclusive to Aptem customers.
Compliance is one of the heaviest things a training provider carries. The funding rules, the ILR, off-the-job tracking, recognition of prior learning, the documentation that has to stand up when scrutiny comes. Aptem gives you the controls and audit trail to manage all of it day to day. ACAR adds something the platform alone can’t: a second pair of expert eyes, fully independent of us, telling you what your compliance position actually looks like.
We’ve built this because we want our partnership with customers to go beyond software.
What’s included
ACAR is a two-day review delivered by Lockhart Hawkins, covering:
- A self-assessment against core funding rules and operational risks.
- A sample review of five learners directly within Aptem.
- Trend analysis of key compliance indicators pulled from your platform data.
- An introductory call, interim feedback, and a closing session.
- A written summary with a risk rating and prioritised recommendations you can put into action.
The review is benchmarked against current funding rules and supports compliance with the DWP Financial Handbook.

Who gets it free, and how to access it
Eligible customers get ACAR included as part of their Aptem package. Other customers can buy it as an add-on.
