Navigating the 2025 / 26 funding rule changes can be challenging for apprenticeship and training providers. At Aptem, we are committed to guiding our customers through every transition. We ensure you can continue delivering outstanding training while staying fully compliant. Here’s how Aptem’s approach – including expert guidance, Help Centre, and ongoing product development – prepares you for regulatory changes.
Leading with compliance expertise – the Aptem Compliance Advisory Board
To keep pace with the sector’s rapidly changing regulatory landscape, Aptem has established a Compliance Advisory Board. Made up of industry specialists and Aptem staff representing Implementation, Product and Communications, the Board ensures our platform and support materials are always updated in line with the latest funding rules. This expert group monitors rule changes, advises on best practice, and acts as a sounding board for how Aptem evolves, empowering our customers to navigate complex compliance issues with confidence. Your one-stop resource – the Help Centre funding rules hub
Change doesn’t need to mean confusion. Aptem’s comprehensive Help Centre funding rules hub provides a clear summary of each funding rule update, including the most significant changes for funding year 2025/26. This regularly updated hub highlights key updates, guides your next steps, and offers links to further guidance and supporting documentation, so you always have access to timely and reliable information.
Continual platform enhancements – keeping you ready for compliance
True compliance goes beyond information – it’s about making sure your technology works for you. Aptem is continuously enhancing our platform to reflect the latest government requirements. Using our upcoming enhancements page, customers can see exactly how we are preparing Aptem for the 2025/26 apprenticeship funding rules – from workflow changes to evidence tracking. These updates are designed to ensure that, by August 2025, users across the sector will be fully supported and compliant.
Knowledge sharing – free webinars led by sector experts
We believe in empowering our customers through knowledge. Following the announcement of the 2025/26 funding rules, we hosted a free-to-attend webinar, “Understanding the 2025/26 Apprenticeship Funding Rules”, led by compliance expert David Lockhart-Hawkins. Nearly 1,000 apprenticeship professionals joined this session – sharing important information about the most significant funding and compliance update since 2017. Key topics included:
- Reduction of the minimum practical period to 8 months
- New minimum off-the-job hours requirement (decreasing from 278 to 187 hours) and RPL impacts
- Increased programme delivery flexibility
- Changes to Level 7 apprenticeships
- Upcoming End-Point Assessment rule updates
- Maths, English, initial assessment, and programme design guidance
- Introduction of Foundation Apprenticeships and eligibility criteria updates
- Importance of quality-focused change management
Slides summarising the session’s key points are available here.
Transparent progress – keep track of compliance improvements in the Help Centre
Staying ahead means being kept in the loop. Aptem customers can track in our Help Centre how we are developing our platform to ensure users are ready for the new rules by August 2025. Every update is listed so you know exactly when, why, and how Aptem is changing to support your compliance journey.
